I am a PhD candidate supervised by Dr. Robert Beiko in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University. I was previously a member of the Human Communication Technologies Laboratory at UBC and the Content-Based Image Retrieval Group at McGill.
My research interests include bioinformatics, information visualization, computer vision, and machine learning. The aim of my current research is to develop novel visualizations for the rapid, interactive exploration of geophylogenetic data. Understanding such data sets is critical to determining the role geography plays in evolution. Such knowledge can be directly apply to conservation measures that aim to minimize our impact on genetic diversity.
